Now that we have the strategy of your certification, the next stage is curriculum and testing design.
This is the “meaty” part of the journey, where we get into the nitty-gritty of designing your training guides, slides, handouts, assignments, and other associated resources for each lesson, along with testing projects and a grading rubric.
Now, it will be quicker, of course, to produce a 60-day training compared to a 6-month training… but even if your program is on the longer side, there are ways to lessen the load on YOUR shoulders.
Let me give you an example of what this can look like.
After we laid out the strategy for her certification, my client Julie Santiago of We Are The Women hired my team to complete the curriculum design and testing process for her Lead Certification.
Julie and I met by phone once a week for a 1-hour call where I guided her through a process to “download” all of her knowledge and wisdom so that my team and I could create all of her assets. Then she spent about an hour recording training videos for each of her 20 lessons.
Including review and approval time, Julie spent only 3 hours a week producing her certification training because she had a team of people around her to do the rest.
What I recommend at this stage is getting help. Whether it’s with the support of my team or your existing team, the only thing YOU should be doing is downloading your wisdom and recording the sessions themselves. Let your team take care of the rest.
If you keep the creation of all training guides, slides, handouts, assignments and such on your plate…. well, that is going to be a lot more work on your part and that is where things can get overwhelming in this process.
Yes, this is the meaty part of it all but you don’t have to do it all alone. And it doesn’t have to take over your schedule either.
Oh – and if you are ready to start the process of creating your own certification click here for info on how I can help. I’m currently enrolling for our Ready, Set, Certify program starting in January.
