2021 Trends for Online Service Providers

Jan 15, 2021

As we look back to 2020 – and ‘ease’ into 2021 – what can we expect as service providers? What are the opportunities for us out there today and how can we make the most of them?

To say 2020 was a doozy of a year is to put it mildly, and yet it was a year that opened up all kinds of doors for online service providers… put simply, the world came online last year and you are needed more now than ever. So whether you are a virtual assistant, online business manager, copywriter, funnel builder, web designer or otherwise… if you provide ‘done for you’ services of any kind now is your time.

I am curious, when you say educational selling are you talking about creating course to sell to your clients or would it be more of a one on one consulting style. I am just starting out as an OBM and really trying to figure out where I should specialize.

Great question! I mean being willing to educate people along the way about what they really do – and don’t – need. For example, It’s not uncommon for someone to have a conversation with a business owner who thinks they need to hire an OBM, but once you get into the conversation what they really need is a strong VA. So part of the conversation is educating them on when the business is ready for an OBM, so that they have a greater understanding of it all. You don’t need to be selling/creating a course around it, but you certainly could be writing and sharing marketing content (posts, articles, etc) that are educational.

Being in business as a virtual assistant for almost 26 years now, values is a huge deal to me. If I don’t believe in what the person stands for, then I won’t work with them as their values spill over into their business as well. In order for me to do my job well in helping them grow their business, I must believe in everything they stand for. 2020 was a telling year in what people’s values are.

I agree Jennifer – it’s become more important to me as well especially over the past year.

Tina – Thank you. The educating clients stood out to me. I have conversations with people all the time and realize now I’ve been educating on when and how to use outsourcing. Thank you

Love it! Such a gift to educate someone, even if they don’t become a client.
