You are successfully registered for the Call to Lead Retreat in Banff, Alberta!
We are planning an intimate and purposeful gathering for our time together and can’t wait to see you there.
First, let’s get you the dates & travel details.
What: The Call to Lead Retreat
When: June 9 -11, 2016 (our final day together will be half-day, ending around noon)
Where: Banff, Alberta Canada
Banff is an amazingly beautiful town in the Rocky Mountains, located just a couple of hours outside of Calgary, Alberta. In looking at our options we decided that we wanted to make this a true getaway for all of you, and instead of spending our time in a “stuffy airport hotel” we chose a location that is BEYOND beautiful and simply a joy to visit. You may want to plan an extra day or so if possible, give yourself a mini-holiday if you are so inclined. 😉
Air Travel:
You will want to fly into the Calgary International Airport (YYC). This is a full service airport that has lots of flight options. We recommend that you book your travel to arrive the day before (June 8TH), and to leave the day after (June 12TH). We will be done around noon on our final day together (June 11th) so if you prefer to fly out that evening it is an option.
Note that transportation to Banff is about 2 hours from the airport, so you will want to plan accordingly for your flights in and out to give yourself enough time (more re: transportation to Banff below.)
** For those of you in the US and elsewhere, note that a passport is required to come into Canada. **
Transportation:
The Banff Airporter shuttle is your best option to for transportation to/from the airport. It’s only $60 CDN each way and will drop you off directly at the hotel. Shuttles are available from 10am local time up until about 9pm so be sure to book your flights to arrive within that time. View the schedule and prebook your transportation at: http://banffairporter.com <– WE RECOMMEND BOOKING ASAP DUE TO BUSY SEASON
If you like to drive and prefer to rent a car it’s really easy to get from the Calgary Airport out to Banff – the drive is beautiful and you will have the freedom to explore the area a bit more (ie: take the 40 minute drive from Banff to Lake Louise) Plus there is plenty of parking available at the hotel.
Hotel:
Our Retreat will be held in the heart of the town at the Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa. This hotel is in a great central location on Banff Avenue, close to all amenities and reasonably priced for rooms…. not to mention it has a spa!
To book your rooms at the Banff Caribou Lodge call 1-800-563-8764 and quote the Group Name: #Tina Forsyth Group or Group Number: #1445543 for a rate of $159.00 CDN per night. Rooms have 2 queen beds (should you wish to share with a roommate). Â
NOTE:Â June is an EXTREMELY busy time in Banff (heading into the summer season) so we recommend that you book your room asap. Our special room rate of $159.00 will be available until May 8, 2016 or until our room block is sold out. And we can’t make any guarantees on room rates or availability outside of the nights of June 8, 9, 10 & 11th.
If you are interested in staying at a different hotel there are PLENTY of options available and you might be able to find a great deal online.
If you have trouble booking a room email us at support@tinaforsyth.com.
Agenda:
We have sessions planned for the following times. Be sure to plan any activities (spa time perhaps?) around these times so that you are able to be 100% present with us for the full 2.5 days. NOTE: You are in the Mountain Time zone while in Banff (MDT).
Thursday, June 9th – 9am to 6pm
Friday, June 10th – 9am to 6pm
Saturday, June 11th – 9am to noon
** We will be ending around noon so that you have the afternoon free to relax and do some exploring of the area.
Weather:
Average temperature in June is 14 degrees Celsius/ 57 degrees Fahrenheit. We will be in the mountains and it can get cool (especially at night) and it may also rain, so be sure to bring a warm jacket just in case.
A few great things to note about Banff, especially if you plan on staying an extra day or so:
- Hiking/walking – lots of great trails within the townsite, or further into the mountains if you like
- A bit of shopping, lots of cute shops on Banff Avenue
- Take a Gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain in Banff – amazing views!
- Enjoy a nice soak in the natural Hot Springs
- Drive out to Lake Louise – about 40 mins from Banff (picturesque glacier fed lake tucked into the mountains)
- Aaaaah, I can’t wait… can we go now? LOL
