    Hello Tina,

I am looking to start a Hood Cleaning Training and Certification Program. Between me and my instructor, we have over 15 years of experience. How do I go about the certification process?

    Thanks

Is there any liability on certifiying fitness instructors?

Hey Anita – liability is always a consideration in certification programs. You will want to have solid agreements & expectations in place (alongside good insurance coverage as needed) to account for this.

Hi Tina, I am a freelance technical trainer. Can I issue a certification of completion of training for people who avail my service?

Hey everyone – so i’m starting a (very) small group program to create your own certification, and I wanted to let you know first as promised. Here’s a short video with the scoop: https://www.tinaforsyth.com/certificationinvite/

I would love to learn more. I have a proven system. I have already started to see some demand for a certification program or a train the trainer program. I can’t figure out whether I’d like to have certification in my system or a host of contractors working for me (or franchises).

This is great news, Tina. Every now & then I have a client where licensing makes sense for them. You know I’ll send them your way when/if you offer this!

I’ve run my business now for 12 years. For the last 2-3 years, I’ve started feeling a bit “bored” with the nitty gritty of it and dream of certifying people to be ready to jump into my industry with knowledge of the software and systems needed to be fantastic support, and for myself, an alternate revenue stream which includes my joy in teaching. Tina, if you do create a course around creating a certification program, I would love to be a part of it.

Hi Tina, I’m coming from a country where OBM is not a standard yet but you won’t believe it, 2 days ago I got the feedback from a friend and project manager who said she hears first time for OBM concept and she would love to have one and suddenly, I’ve got an idea of starting a certification program for OBMs in our language and to actually introduce this kind of profile in our country. So, yes, I would love to hear more!

You may want to connect w/Tiffany about this – our program is something that can be licensed to other countries.

Hi Tina. I’ve had my “Tango Mojo Teacher Training and Certification” program outlined, and on the back burner for two years. I not only have a well-proven proprietary system, but also a signature 6-month online home study program, and auxiliary virtual programs, that could become done-for-you training tools for affiliate teachers. There’s bad or weak tango teaching going on around the world, and I’ve been hankering to spread my powerfully effective teaching methods to help the poor tango enthusiast who is struggling because he or she is not getting trained well. But I haven’t launched the program because 1) teachers have not yet become my primary market – it means marketing to a whole new audience, 2) I’m not sure how to structure the program and deliver all the content, 3) I don’t know what else needs to get done regarding program implementation, 4) I’m concerned about the legal side of this. I also have the feeling I’d need to delegate a lot more with such a program. So training by you in running a certification program would be fabulous!

Great info, Tina, as usual! This was very timely as I’m looking at rolling out a certification program in the 2nd half of this year. I have the program, client successes, some of the coach training materials, and I’m wrestling with the “certification” portion – what is the right way to ensure that the trainees are indeed ready to represent me and my program? Also, I like what you said about ongoing support and would love to learn more about that as well. One of the ways I want to support my trainees is handing them a marketing packet so they can jumpstart gaining clients and ROI, but I suspect there is more that you can share. CHEERS!

I would love to learn more. I have a client that is thinking of creating a certification program and your comment about the trainer being effected by the grad’s reputation (in part) is a huge consideration. Who will be spreading your message/system, and ensuring they are doing so correctly. I love that you have ongoing training and mentoring and the Assoc is also a great place to connect with other grads.

I will be working on a fitness instructor certification of sorts – a “train the trainer” program to develop teaching & coaching skills that aren’t being taught to instructors during traditional weekend fitness certification programs. It will be an “excellence” training – how to take teaching to the next level. I’d love to learn the structure of how to set this up & how to follow through after they go through the program to continue to give them support. Keep me posted on any developments in this area. 🙂
