First, let’s get you the dates & travel details.

What: Leadership Retreat
When: May 28 & 29th, 2015
Where: Banff, Alberta Canada

Banff is an amazingly beautiful town in the Rocky Mountains, located just a couple of hours outside of Calgary, Alberta. In looking at our options we decided that we wanted to make this a true getaway for all of you, and instead of spending our time in a “stuffy hotel” we decided to go the extra step to make it really enjoyable. You may want to plan an extra day or so if possible, give yourself a mini-holiday if you are so inclined. 😉

Air Travel:

You will want to fly into the Calgary International Airport (YYC). This is a full service airport that has lots of flight options. We recommend that you book your travel to arrive the day before, and to leave afternoon or later the day after. Note that transportation to Banff is about 2 hours from the airport, so you will want to plan accordingly for your flights in and out to give yourself enough time (more re: transportation to Banff below.)

** For those of you in the US and elsewhere, note that a passport is required to come into Canada. **

Transportation:

The Banff Airporter shuttle is your best option to for transportation to/from the airport. It’s only $59 each way and will drop you off directly at the hotel. Shuttles are available from 10am local time up until about 9pm so be sure to book your flights to arrive within that time. View the schedule and prebook your transportation at: http://banffairporter.com <– WE RECOMMEND BOOKING ASAP DUE TO BUSY SEASON

Hotel:

Our Workshop will be held in the heart of Banff at the Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa. This hotel is in a great central location on Banff Avenue, close to all amenities and reasonably priced for rooms…. not to mention the spa!

** URGENT: PLEASE READ ASAP **

Turn out that the end of May is unusally busy this year and the Banff Caribou Lodge is already sold out the night of Wednesday, May 27th (the night many of you are planning to arrive.) So here’s the scoop – our AMAZING contact at the venue has arranged for us to have hotel rooms that first night just one block away at The Fox Hotel & Suites at the same rate of $149/night (their regular rate is $199). Then we will be moved to our meeting venue at the Banff Caribou Lodge for the nights of May 28th & 29th. I totally acknowledge that it is a bit of a pain to move between two hotels – I feel the same way! We didn’t anticipate it being so busy this time of year and worked with the hotel to ensure that we DO have rooms for everyone on the first night (Phew!) and that it wasn’t going to cost you more.

To book your rooms at The Fox (May 27th) and Banff Caribou Lodge (May 28 & 29th) call 1-800-563-8764 and quote the Group Name: #Tina Forsyth Group and Group Number: #1324355 for a rate of $149.00 per night. They have both king & 2 double bed rooms available (should you wish to share with a roommate).

NOTE:  reservations must be booked by May 7, 2015. Thereafter reservations will be on a space available basis and subject to possible rate change. And we can’t make any guarantees on room rates or availability outside of May 27, 28 & 29th.

Agenda:

We have sessions planned for the following times. Be sure to plan any activities (spa time perhaps?) around these times so that you are able to be 100% present with us for the full 3 days.

Leadership Retreat:
Thursday, May 28th – 9am to 9pm local time (mountain time)
Friday, May 29th – 9am to 6pm

Weather:
Average temperature in May is 14 degrees Celsius/ 57 degrees Fahrenheit. We will be in the mountains and it can get cool (especially at night), so be sure to bring a warm jacket just in case.

A few great things to note about Banff, especially if you plan on staying an extra day or so:

  • Hiking/walking – lots of great trails within the townsite, or further into the mountains if you like
  • A bit of shopping, lots of cute shops on Banff Avenue
  • Take a Gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain – amazing views!
  • Enjoy a nice soak in the natural Hot Springs
  • Aaaaah, I can’t wait… can we go now? LOL
